Welcome to my blog! I am a full time professional photographer specialising in natural, creative wedding photography and a range of different types of portrait photography including maternity, new born babies, families and pets.

I love my work as, for me, a photograph is a split second in time, which is shaped by the emotions of a moment. Every photograph tells a story and particular images can conjour up strong and sometimes powerful memories. I count myself lucky to really love what I do as I have a passion for taking photographs and finding out what makes people tick.

I am based near Bristol and Bath in the Chew Valley. For weddings, I work mainly in the Bristol, Bath, Somerset and Gloucestershire areas and photograph weddings regularly at some of the best venues in the region including: Hunstrete House, Thornbury Castle, Ston Easton Park, Maunsel House, Kingscote Barn, The Park, The Matara Centre and Guyers House. I am happy to travel to other parts of the country and abroad. To find out more about my wedding photography please click here. For portraits I work either in clients' homes, on location or from my studio in the Chew Valley and aim to offer a relaxed, fun and personal experience, particularly as many of my clients have known me since photographing their wedding and come back to me for their family photographs. Baby Matilda

Just catching up with my blog today after a really busy couple of weeks shooting. Coming up is Jo and David’s wedding but in the meantime, here are some pictures of gorgeous newborn baby Matilda who came in with her parents Katherine and James. I had been waiting to hear from them as I had done their bump shoot a few weeks previously and pretty much on time (well only a day late which is not bad for a first baby!) little Matilda arrived.

Here are a few of my favourite shots:

Katherine and James’ maternity shoot

Last week Katherine and James came over for a maternity shoot. I had not seen them since they collected their wedding album about 3 years ago – so it was lovely to catch up over a cuppa and to share their excitement! katherine was in the process of packing her hospital bag so b day was was getting very close!

Here are a few favourite images (watch this space for their gorgeous baby in a few weeks’ time!):

Baby Jonathan and Baby George

The last time I saw Tina and Clayton a few weeks ago, Tina was 8 months’ pregnant and about to pop!  This time they came with their gorgeous twins Goerge and Jonathan for their newborn shoot. Having 2 babies is obviously a lot of work, though Tina and Clayton seemed to be taking it in their stride -  2 babies does also mean there are enough babies to go around so everyone gets a cuddle!

We started off doing some skin pictures with both Tina and Clayton and also managed to get some of the boys on their own  – here are a few of my favourite images:

Baby Emily

Last week I met up with Sarah and Steve. whose wedding I photographed about 18 months ago. They now have a gorgeous little girl Emily, so it was so nice to see them again – now a family and take some photos for them. As Emily was sitting and beginning to crawl, we did some in the studio and then wandered along to the lake for a few outdoor shots.

Bristol portrait photographer – Baby Jackson

I am back in the office after a lovely break in Italy – including (very unusually for me!) attending a wedding as a guest. Although I love what I do and really enjoy shooting a wedding, it was interesting to see if from the other side and of course to quaff a few glasses of Champagne!

Coming up on the blog are Katy and Steve’s fantastic seaside wedding in Ilfracombe, which I photographed just before I left and Emily and Robert’s pre-wedding shoot in Bath. In the meantime, just before I went on holiday, I photographed 7 week old baby Jackson ands his parents Sarah and Ian.  For such a small baby Jackson was incredibly good and we even managed to do a few natural light shots at the end of the studio session including one of all the family – even the dog!

Here are a few favourites:

Bristol Family Portraits – The Down Family’s Portrait Session

Last week I had the pleasure of spending a morning with the Down family. I first met them 2 years ago when I photographed their first daughter Olivia at almost exactly the same time of year. They came back with Olivia (now a bouncy young lady rather than a baby!) and baby Katy, who really reminded me of Olivia at the same age. We caught up over a cup of coffee and then had a lovely time in the buttercup field taking some gorgeous natural shots.  There was then time for a break and a change of clothes for the girls and we headed along the lake path to do some pictures there using all the lovely seasonal backgrounds.

Here are a few of my favourite images:

Portrait Shoot in the Chew Valley – Jake

A couple of weeks ago I spent an afternoon with Jake and his lovely parents at their farm above Blagdon Lake. Any locals will know what a nice backdrop the lake is and with a bit of Autumn Colour coming through it was a great time for a shoot. Poor little Jake hadn’t been feeling too well but he still managed to have fun and I got some great images of him. He loves pottering around outside and in particular has a thing for garden gates so we got quite a few shots of him just doing his thing and enjoying the outdoors. Here are a few of my favourites:

Baby Daisy

A while back, Daisy and her parents came to the studio for the 2nd of their Bump to One sessions and they came in this morning to collect their images. Daisy is a gorgeous baby – very smiley and happy and absolutely loves clapping her hands!  We had great fun dressing her in different outfits and letting her play and enjoy herself.  Here are a few of my favourite images:

Baby Imogen

I had a wonderful time with Vicky and Duncan last week and their new baby daughter Imogen who was only about 3 1/2 weeks’ old. I last saw Vicky and Duncan a couple of years ago when I photographed their wedding so it was so nice to see them again and catch up. They have unsurprisingly been very busy since little Imogen arrived but were obviously loving it all and really keen to get some gorgeous pictures of her (which as she was such a cutie was not very difficult!).

Daisy

A few days before Christmas Amy and Nick came for a newborn shoot with gorgeous baby Daisy. I photographed Nick and Amy’s wedding a couple of years ago in the Cotswolds and time seems to have flown since the last time I saw them so it was really nice to see them again and admire their new arrival!

For such a small baby Daisy was the perfect model and we got some fantastic shots. Here are a few of my favourites:
