Albane

On Saturday I did a maternity shoot for a friend who is expecting her second child later this week – so it was our last chance to get some beautiful portraits of her and her bump!

So for all you pregnant ladies out there (or just plain broody!) here are a few of my favourite images:

Sarah and Stuart's Pre-wedding Shoot

Friday was a first for me, as although I have shot several snowy weddings, I have never had a portrait session in the snow!

Sarah and Stuart came well prepared with scarves and gloves and we set off to do some pictures down by the lake. Despite the grey skies, the snow was still lovely and we managed to get some great shots before deciding to go back in and put the kettle on!

Here are some images from their session:

Winter Wonderland

I have been out by the lake the last couple of mornings (wearing my new Christmassy bright purple wellies!) taking in the sight of the lake all frozen over and the stunning snow covered landscape and thought I would share a few pictures:

Daisy

A few days before Christmas Amy and Nick came for a newborn shoot with gorgeous baby Daisy. I photographed Nick and Amy’s wedding a couple of years ago in the Cotswolds and time seems to have flown since the last time I saw them so it was really nice to see them again and admire their new arrival!

For such a small baby Daisy was the perfect model and we got some fantastic shots. Here are a few of my favourites:

Mary and Alan

My first post of 2010 and it is very atmospheric sitting looking out at all the snow! I was out with my camera early this morning around the lake as it was so beautiful in the morning light and then I realised just how cold it was so retreated indoors for a huge cuppa!

Just before Christmas (and before the last lot of snow!) I photographed Mary and Alan’s wedding at Hunstrete House. It was a very relaxed affair and I met up with Alan and Mary before the ceremony to take advantage of the winter sunshine and take a few shots in the lovely grounds. Even at this time of year there are some great backgrounds so it can be really nice to have a few shots outside.

After the ceremony guests enjoyed drinks by the Christmas tree and a great roaring fire before sitting down to dinner.

Here are a few images from their day:

Caroline and Tim

Last Saturday, Caroline and Tim were married at Kingscote Barn in the Cotswolds – it’s a lovely setting even in the middle of Winter and when I arrived, the Christmas tree and lovely decorations made everything look very festive!

Caroline and her Mum and Sister were getting ready in the cottage and as their hair and make up was done, the kettle was on almost constantly for very welcome cups of tea for everyone!

After spending some time with the girls, I headed up to the barn to meet up with Tim and to have a look around the ceremony room. The barn is a beautifully modern conversion so it’s really light – which is great at this time of year and the flowers Caroline had chosen included Christmas roses, which looked gorgeous!

After the ceremony, guests had warming glasses of mulled wine and despite a bit of drissle, Caroline and Tim were keen to spend a few minutes outside for some photographs.

Brides worrying about rain take note – you can get some lovely shots even in the wet – just pick a cream or clear umbrella with no branding on it and have fun!

The Tandy Family

It’s been a busy Autumn here so far with the new studio now open and some lovely portrait sessions in the studio and also in the Autumn leaves. I have just got back from a blissful couple of weeks’ holiday and so I’ll catch up with blogging as soon as I can!

Just before I went away, the lovely Tandy family came for a family shoot as their new baby Oliver was 6 months old. I photographed Laura and Rob’s wedding a few years ago and then baby Erin last year (who is now an energetic toddler!) so it was great to catch up with them.

It was a nice day weatherwise, so after some shots in the studio we headed out to the orchard (a very popular spot with little ones!) and took some photos of Erin there playing under the trees.

Here are a few of my favourite shots from their session:

Kathryn and Django

On Saturday morning I headed over to the Avon Gorge Hotel to meet up with Kathryn and her bridesmaids who were having their hair and make up done. They had a lovely suite overlooking the gorge and we watched the rain and mist clear to leave beautiful sunshine just in time for them to leave for Ashton Court.

Guests enjoyed the unusually warm Autumn sunshine outside before Kathryn arrived looking so happy with her Father in a fabulous vintage car.

Their ceremony was particularly personal as Django’s Grandfather gave them some words of wisdom (after being married for over 60 years you could say he was an authority on the subject!) and Django’s Dad played the saxaphone during the signing of the registers.

After the ceremony, we headed outside for a few shots in the lovely grounds using the seasonal backdrops and then Kathryn and Django spent some time drinking Champagne with their guests in the sunshine.

Caroline & Tim's Pre-wedding Shoot

Last week I caught up with Caroline and Tim, who are getting married in a few weeks for their pre-wedding shoot. We met up at @Bristol and had a great time taking some photographs around the fountains area (not warm enough to paddle though at this time of year!). Here are a few images from their session:

Rachael and Rod

Last Saturday I spent the day in the lovely Mendip area very near where I live. It was a really short drive up to Rachael’s Gran’s house in Blagdon where she was getting ready and by the time I arrived, the rain was easing a little bit.

The views from the living room over the lake were amazing so Rachael had a very tranquil calming view to look at as she was having her make up done!

I then headed over to Churchill to meet up with Rod and his best man. Everyone was very calm and relaxed – even when Rachael’s brothers arrived really late for the ceremony (after driving to the reception venue first by mistake!!!) no one was stressed out and there was a lovely happy atmosphere.

Rachael’s Grandfather read a beautiful poem during the ceremony and there wasn’t a dry eye in the church (including me!) and on a less emotional note, Rachael and Rod were given several gifts from the Vicar (including a miniture car for Rod who is a car fanatic!).

After the ceremony, guests spent some time chatting to Rod and Rachael and then we headed off for a few shots in Rod’s parents’ garden up the road, before heading over to Cheddar for the reception at the Rodney Stoke Inn.

Here are a few of my favourite shots:
